~from nanoworld to real world~
Short Biography
Masaki Tanemura received the Ph.D. degree from Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech), Nagoya, Japan, and is currently a Professor at NITech (from 2006), and Head of Department of Physical Science and Engineering. Before joining NITech, he worked at Toyota Central Research and Development Laboratories, Inc., Aichi, Japan. He joined also Bonn University, Germany, as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow. He published more than 300 papers in international journals, 9 book chapters, and 19 granted patents (including 6 US and EP patents), and commercialized carbon nanofiber probes for atomic force microscope. He was awarded Encouragement Award from Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (November, 2013), and received the Prizes for Science and Technology (Research Category) in the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of MEXT in 2019.
